Integrated Quality and Environmental Policy

BERTEN integrated quality and environmental policy applies UNE-EN 9100:2018, UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015, and UNE‑EN 14001:2015 standards for the design, development, manufacturing, and commercialisation of electronics, communication systems, and crypto security products.

The main objectives of the BERTEN integrated quality system are:

  • To provide excellent post-sales support to our customers.
  • To commit with continuous improvement and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • For avionics products, to focus on promoting the “Safety First” principle at all levels within the organisation, ensuring that that employees do the utmost to guarantee product safety.

Environmental Performance

BERTEN takes responsibility to reduce the impact of its business activity on the environment, contributing towards the conservation of natural resources and sustainable development.

Performance is monitored in the frame of the UNE EN 14001:2015 Environmental Quality System. Consumption of energy, resources, and consumables are revised yearly. For each performance indicator, the results are compared with predefined objectives.

Environmental legal requirements are reviewed continuously, with annual formal evaluations. This approach ensures the compliance with RoHS, REACH, and WEEE regulations for all the hardware products of the company, and with local regulations for waste management and emergencies response.

Environmental procedures are internally disseminated to employees. Training for equipment design and manufacturing includes compliance with applicable regulation.

Communication to Suppliers

In the frame of BERTEN integrated quality management system, suppliers are evaluated according to the following criteria: compliance with applicable legislation, predictable and stable pricing, fast response, clear terms and conditions, compliance with deadlines, adequate packing, implementation of quality and environmental management systems, and safety and health of their workers.

Specific requirements apply to suppliers providing components for BERTEN aviation products. It may include communication of changes in manufacturing procedures, counterfeit parts prevention, and managing of documented information.
